Sunday School

St. John’s Sunday School meets from 9:45-10:45 AM with classes for all ages teaching the Bible with relevant life-experience applications.  On the first Sunday of each month, the classes gather together for fellowship and coffee in the Fellowship Hall from 9:45-10:00 AM.

ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES


New Disciples Class
– An intergenerational class that reviews current affairs, Biblical themes and the Bible as related to everyday life.  The class is taught by Terry Iddings.

DSC_6429Wesleyan Class– An older adult class, the Wesleyan Class uses the Comprehensivel Bible Study series and is taught by a rotation of teachers.

DSC_6431Hovis Class – An adult class, the Hovis Class uses the Comprehensive Bible Study series and is taught by Ron Patterson.

 

 

Children Sunday School ClassesElementary1

Infant Nursery – Our crib nursery is for children 2 years of age and under.  Shenay Cheek is a paid personnel for the Infant nursery and a constant for the children.  Each week at least one additional adult joins Shenay with the babies.

Toddler Nursery – Our Toddler Class, Terrific Toddlers is for post nursery through 5 years (or pre-Kindergarten).  It is based on the stories of the Bible. It is also geared to help children begin to socialize as they hear the stories.  Sheree Cheek is a paid personnel for the toddler class and a constant for the children.  Each week at least one additional adult joins Sheree in this class.

St. John’s Angels of Beauty

Rotational Sunday School for Children, K-2 & 3-5 – The elementary children use a rotational Sunday School material entitled, POWERXPRESS – including stories, videos, music, drama, cookery, science and other avenues so children can use all their senses to understand Biblical stories, themes and concepts.  The children are divided into two groupings and four teachers share in the tasks:  Vicky Cheek, Joy Ellison, and Laurel Foster.

Youth and Young Adult Classes

This is a class for Middle School, High School and College age students.  We enjoy our time with open discussion and DVD bible study.  We love our laid back couch style meeting with a pop tart and cup of coffee!
