In Trying Times God Is Still My Joy!
When the song writer penned, “When I think of the Goodness of Jesus, and all He has done for me, my soul cries out Hallelujah! I thank God for Saving Me!” What an awesome phrase. We should always be thankful to our God for His grace and His goodness.
We are in a war-torn society. Fires are everywhere; hurricanes all around; killings every day, but we still need to say thank you!
Our churches are no longer standing on the promises of Jesus, but rather, sitting on the pews complaining.
The government is worried about the fires in California burning acres of pot, but not yet concerned about the loss of property and lives. Our nation has been devastated by tornadoes and hurricanes, but some areas are less valued than others. Why?
We are building more and more prisons each year, but can’t keep some hospitals open for lack of funding. Why? It is estimated to cost about $46,000 per year to house and care for a prisoner; some higher, some lower, but not much. However, we average nationally from $10,259 to $11,355 per student, but North Carolina ranks on the lower end. (These figures were googled.) What is wrong with this comparison?
Our insurance coverage is going down and the rates are going up.
I am so glad that God is the Center of my Joy!
When I am weary, I call Him.
When I am busted and disgusted, I call Him.
When I am sad, I call Him.
The good news is:
(God is) God is the joy and the strength of my life, (God is) He moves all pain, misery and strife.
(God is) He promised to keep me, never to leave me. He’s never, never comes short of His word.
(God is) I’ve got to fast and pray, stay in the narrow way, (God is) I’ll keep my life clean every day; (God is) I want to go with Him when He comes back, I’ve come too far and I’ll never turn back.
God is (4x), God is my all and all.
(Rev. James Cleveland)
Yes, in trying times, God Is Still My Joy!
